YPATI

The ancient city of Ypati was founded in the late 5th century B.C. by Ainianians on the staggered northern slopes of Mt Oeta. It was once the capital of their state, where their koinon was based from the 4th century B.C. onwards, as well as of the Aetolian League in the 2nd century B.C. Ypati flourished in Hellenistic times, while after the period of dominance of the Catalans, it was the second capital of Greece after Athens.

The city of witches that brought down the stars still tells the stories of the spirits that joined the earth to the firmament, providing cures or spreading misfortune.
