PALEOCHRISTIAN BASILICA OF MARIOLATA

A 5th century A.D. paleochristian basilica constructed on the site of an ancient temple, decorates a picturesque village on the northern foothills of Mt Parnassus. Three-aisled with a transept, a narthex, and a mosaic floor on the central aisle, part of which has been preserved along the colonnade, was built using ancient materials, preserving the sanctity of the space over time.
