CHURCH OF AG. NIKOLAOS, YPATI

A post-Byzantine church of the 18th-19th century A.D. reflects in its mosaic floor, Corinthian capitals, and the architectural sculptures of earlier buildings that have been incorporated into its walls, the splendour of a paleochristian monument, and, specifically, a three-aisled basilica of the 5th – 6th century A.D., inviting visitors to the cool threshold of the babbling brooks that surround it.
