This monastery is built on a hill and looks out on the glorious blue waters of Krissaios Gulf and its islands, Galaxidi, and the lush green slopes of Mt Parnassus. Many monks found refuge inside, although natural disasters often upset their life there. In 1865, Konstantinos Stathas from Galaxidi discovered in a crypt the ‘Chronicle of Galaxidi’, written by the monk Euthymios in 1703, which is now kept at the Maritime Museum of Galaxidi.
