ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF DELPHI

The most important oracle of antiquity was to be founded in the place where, according to myth, the two eagles sent by Zeus to discover the centre of the world met: the navel of the world. There, facing the sometimes shining and at other times dark Phaedriades, Pythia would give her oracles to the believers in search of sign to guide their family, their army, their city, and their life. This was also the location, every four years, the Pythian Games, one of the most important panhellenic celebrations after the Olympic Games. A land of Apollo, god of light and music, it has made an impression on any visitor who has ever wanted to experience splendour from another time.
