BYZANTINE MUSEUM OF PHTHIOTIS

The Byzantine Museum of Phthiotis in Ypati is housed in the restored building of the Kapodistrias Barracks, built in 1836. The finds are exhibited on two floors: the ground floor is filled with the colours and imagery of the paleochristian mosaics of Phthiotis, while the first floor presents how people worshipped during the paleochristian and Byzantine period, as well as part of the coin collection of Ypatian Konstantinos Kotsilis, which includes more than 3000 coins from different time periods.
